A perfect background song while reading a book… Heaven Sent by Keyshia Cole.
Happy Monday everyone!

I am done with Charlaine Harris’ first book from The Southern Vampire Mysteries, Dead Until Dark. It is a really good read! Be forewarned. It is a page-turner. When you start reading this book, it’ll be hard to put it down.
I read the e-book version so I am not sure how many pages the book is in paperback. I read it for five days. I can normally read a book this size in a day or two but since I only read at least two to three hours a day, it took me longer.
In Dead Until Dark, Sookie Stackhouse, the main character, is a telepathic who falls in love with a vampire, Bill Compton. It would have been a simple life for Sookie had it not been for the reported murder cases happening around Bon Temps. And the people murdered has a connection with her and her brother, Jason. One of the murdered people was even their grandmother.
Weird things started happening in her life. She found out that her boss, Sam Merlotte, is actually a shape shifter. She allowed a stray dog to enter her house only to find a naked Sam beside her on the bed in the morning! She met another vampire, Eric Northman, who has a higher authority than Bill and is seemingly enamored by her. She found out that a popular singer who is identified with Hawaii has become a vampire who only answers to the name Bubba. And then she discovered that the murderer is his brother’s friend Rene Lenier, her friend, Arlene’s boyfriend whom she thought was really caring and a good partner to her friend.
The book is funny and captivating. And be prepared for a bit of weirdness. When you read it, you would want to watch True Blood and give faces to the characters in the book. You will not regret reading this one. A vampire story that is entirely different from the ones we normally read. This is Twilight with more depth.
I am giving this book 5 out of 5 stars.
I started this blog last July 8 only. My goal is to document my journey in the world of novels. I love reading! This is one of the few things that can make me truly happy. Sounds pathetic ba? I am really happy when I am lost in my own world. And my world is my book collection.
Anyway, from July 8 to present, I’ve seen my Alexa ranking increase by leaps and bounds. As of today, upon logging in, I noticed that from last night’s 11M ranking, this blog’s Alexa rank is now up to 5,594,938. Yey!
It’s not a big deal for most people since they say we can manipulate an Alexa rank. But for me, this is already a big thing. My close blogger-friends know why hehehe
That’s all for now. Happy Sunday everyone!

In relation to my previous post, my friend, Tim, was ribbing me about being a huge fan of Emma. I am not a huge fan of her! Just because I am thinking of naming my future baby Emma or buying a pet cat that I will name Emma doesn’t mean I am a fan, right? Right! Hahaha! Just kidding!
I am really a big fan of young celebrities who are very vocal about the fact that they are prioritizing studies and their families over fame and fortune. Education is very important and when it comes down to a choice between that and being a celebrity, it should always be the former. Because when your star becomes less than bright, you never have to worry because you have your degree to fall back on. And, of course, your family’s always there to support you, even if you are no longer the celebrity you are today.
So that’s the reason why I am a fan ![]()
Watched Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince yesterday at SM North Edsa with my sisters and the little girl. It was by far one of the best Harry Potter movies in my opinion. I love it!
I won’t go into detail because I know most of you haven’t watched it yet. But it’s two hours and 33 minutes long. Rated G here in the Philippines. Malls have at least 90% of their cinemas playing it so no worries about the number of people catching it today or this weekend. The kissing scenes between Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint) and Lavender Brown (Jessie Cave) and Ginny Weasley (Bonnie Wright) and Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) are not bad so you can really bring your young ones. The whole cast have matured and you can see the difference in their acting from previous HP movies. They are all better in this movie. Especially Emma Watson who plays Hermione Granger. In the Order of the Phoenix, Hermione seemed always on the verge of hysteria. In this movie, her acting is more subdued yet you can feel her longing, jealousy and hurt over Ron.
The final scene is eerie, to say the least.
Let me just warn those who haven’t read the book: this movie will not spoon-feed you the information you need to relate to all the scenes. If you read the book, the movie will be a breeze for you. If you haven’t, there will be scenes where you have to ask your seatmate what it’s about.
All in all, I am giving it two thumbs up! The effects are amazing!
People in Manila can catch it today because there are no classes in grade and high school. I am sure malls will be packed.
Have you watched it already? What do you think?
I am reading Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince once again. Just for the kicks. And to excite myself some more (as if I need it!).
2 days more and it’s HP6 movie time!!!
I am a big fan of Emma Watson. The girl is just smart and witty and very pretty! She started as this cute as a button kid playing Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter series. And now she has transformed into this lovely, fashionable lady! She is the latest cover girl of Burberry and is a frequent in fashion shows.
I’d like to share this video of her guest appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman. What a witty lady! Sparring with the great David Letterman is not easy but she does it beautifully.
Do I sound like a fan now? Hahaha
