I want a copy of this book by Anthony Bourdain. Kitchen Confidential. I am one of the many women who are in love with this foodie. I love the man! He is charm personified. You won’t get tired watching him eat one dish after another. You won’t get tired listening to his voice drone on and on.

My newest obsession is to find the perfect couch for my corner at home. I want one that is comfortable but not too much that when you sit down on it you’d think of nodding off. I want one that is not too large because we have problems with limited space. I also want one that will inspire me not just to read but also to think clearly.

Too many expectations for a couch hahaha!

I love stories about angels, demons, fairies and other mythical characters. That’s why I fell in love with Fallen and Hush, Hush. That’s why I kept buying books about these characters.

When I went to Fully Booked the other day, I saw Angelology by Danielle Trussoni. If it weren’t for my sister who was already shaking her head at me, I would have bought it. The reason why she’s shaking her head was because I still have a lot of unread books at home. I kept buying books I find interesting and my unread books are piling up.

Anyway, after I finish Train Man, I will buy this book. I read good reviews of it.

Before I introduce you to my fictional characters, let me tell you something about all of them in general. You see, each and every character I create in my mind is somewhat a part of me. Ganon naman daw di ba? Every character created by an author is actually part and parcel of who he/she is. I believe that. Kasi when I sit back and try to be objective in the stories I wrote, I know I am writing a piece of me in it.

Once upon a time, I write on a daily basis. Back in high school, in fact, I wrote 3 stories. Kasing kapal ng spiral notebook na uso noon. Si Hazel at si Christian. They were my very first characters. I remember being so attached to Hazel that time. I didn’t want my story to end right away because I loved creating scenes where Hazel shone. Na-attached talaga ako. Looking back, I know I was living in her world. Masaya eh!

I was hesitant to have others read about Hazel and Christian’s story then. But when a few of my classmates read it and actually liked the story, I started asking their opinions. They would harass me for the next chapter whenever I release a new one. It was addictive, their responses. Before I knew it, I was already saying goodbye to Hazel and Christian. It was a happy ending but deep down I was sad to part with my characters.

It was the same way for the next batches. Always the same way for me.

Hahaha! Admit it, you two are not in good terms right now. Valentine’s pa naman!

What happened?
Nothing. I don’t know why she suddenly refuses to talk to me. Or even see me!
Hmm… strange… I saw her yesterday at the mall, buying gifts for you.
Paolo’s frown slowly disappears. Replaced by a beatific smile. Hahaha! Now I get it! That silly girl!
Carlyne’s coming, Pao.
Hey angel! Carlyne tries to ignore Paolo but he grabs her and hugs her from the back. Kisses her shoulder.
Carlyne’s smiling. Who told you???
Come on, fight with me so we can make up already. Hehehe.
Carlyne turns around and hugs Paolo. Happy Valentine’s Day!
Corny mo!
Hahaha! You fell for my ploy kaya!

Bites her shoulder. Paolo?? How come you’re calling me Paolo?

Carly is hurting from what Paolo told her. He is in love with another woman. They are best friends. She is secretly in love with him. Actually, it’s an open secret because their friends know about it. And his mom knows, too. She is showing a tough front but in truth, she is hurting, afraid she will lose Paolo sooner or later.

Carly is not the typical woman. She is not a kikay. One of the boys ang turing sa kanya ng mga friends niya. And that includes Paolo. She’s a bit on the chubby side and she plays the piano like a pro. She is a passionate woman who loves jazz and Carly Simon and the beach and movie marathons. She adores George Clooney a lot!

She works as a spa manager somewhere in Ortigas Center. She is a jolly person, doesn’t smoke or drink, loves to chat with friends…

She’s an only child. Her parents are both working abroad. Carly is only 23 but is a very responsible person. She could have become a promiscuous girl, living with only a yaya, but for some reason, she grew up to be conservative.

Carly is currently organizing a Christmas party for their company and will be meeting Paolo’s new girl by next week.

I admit it, hopeless romantic talaga ako. I have a lot of love to give and no one to give it to. Kaya yata ganito ako. Matagal na akong sumusulat ng romance stories. Mga Tagalog love stories na urung-sulong ako sa pag-submit sa mga publications. Feeling ko, I am the only one who can appreciate my work.

Then I started blogging. Na-sidetrack ako. The stories I was writing was left midway to completion. Last night, nakita ko na naman yung mga di ko natapos na stories. Nanghihinayang ako. I thought, why not buy a domain solely for the love stories? Kaya yun na nga ginawa ko. Tagalog Romance.
