Two reasons…

Girl Reading

There are two motives for reading a book; one, that you enjoy it; the other, that you can boast about it [on social networking sites and Goodreads!]. — Bertrand Russell

Happy Tuesday everyone! Enjoy reading!

Planning while washing the dishes

The best time to plan a book is while you’re doing the dishes.
- Agatha Christie

Actually the best time to do some thinking is when your hands are busy doing something. Washing the dishes is the best time for me. Others also do their thinking/planning when doing the laundry or when dusting surfaces at home. When the hands are busy the mind is working double time. That’s what I like to believe.

No wonder Agatha Christie said that the best time to plan a book is while doing the dishes. She might have done that ih her time.

I know when I read this that I have to share it with you fellow bookworms…

Being together isn’t about a honeymoon. It’s about the real you and me. I want to wake up with you beside me in the mornings, I want to spend my evenings looking at you across the dinner table. I want to share every mundane detail of my day with you and hear every detail of yours. I want to laugh with you and fall asleep with you in my arms. Because you aren’t just someone I loved back then. You… were my best friend, my best self, and I can’t imagine giving that up again… You might not understand but I gave you the best of me, and after you left nothing was ever the same.. I know you’re afraid, and I’m afraid too. But if we let this go, if we pretend none of this ever happened, then I’m not sure we’ll ever get another chance. We’re still young. We still have time to make this right…We still have the rest of our lives.
Dawson, The Best of Me by Nicholas Sparks

Makes me want to bawl like a baby!

Really one of the best novels by Sparks so far!

Forbidden quote

Forbidden Quote

I love the book Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma. Yes, it is about a very controversial topic which is incest but it is a book that will move you in ways you can’t imagine. I have never seen a review of the book that speaks less of the praise it deserves. Everyone is gushing about how it made them bawl like a baby and how it left an impact in their lives.

I hope more books like Forbidden will come out. Not necessarily of the same topic but a book that will leave the reader craving for more!

A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge.

Reading While Waiting in Line

I always tell everyone who would listen to read a book. Instead of being idle, bring a book with you wherever you go so that you can read while on queue or while waiting for someone. You need to fill your head with something other than the junk/unnecessary stuff that you get from television or from listening to the gossips in your area.

Happy weekend!

Books were my pass to personal freedom. I learned to read at age three, and soon discovered there was a whole world to conquer.
Oprah

Some people I know think that I am a dork for loving books and reading so much. What they don’t know is that it’s my happiness. They can’t feel the joy it brings to my heart when I get to buy a book I am intrigued with or have been wanting to get my hands on. They don’t know what it feels like to be inside a bookstore surrounded by books that pull you to them!

I guess the only people who can understand me are bibliophiles like me, too!

In honor of Harry Potter…

and the Deathly Hallows movie part 2, I am sharing a quote that I really liked both from the book and from the movie adaptation.

Do not pity the dead, Harry, pity the living. Above all pity those who live without love.
Albus Dumbledore to Harry Potter

Did you catch the first day screening of the movie? How did you find it?

Choice Quote for Today

When you meet someone so different from yourself, in a good way, you don’t even have to kiss to have fireworks go off. It’s like fireworks in your heart all the time. I always wondered, do opposites really attract? Now I know for sure they do. I’d grown up going to the library as often as most people go to the grocery store. Jackson didn’t need to read about exciting people or places. He went out and found them, or created excitement himself if there wasn’t any to be found. The things I like are pretty simple. Burning CDs around themes, like Songs to Get You Groove On and Tunes to Fix a Broken Heart; watching movies; baking cookies; and swimming. It’s like I was a salad with a light vinaigrette, and Jackson was a platter of seafood Cajun pasta. Alone, we were good. Together, we were fantastic.
