A quote from The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman, the book I am currently reading. I have heard great things about this book so I am really excited when I finally got my hands on a copy.
Let’s see if it’s really good. This is my first time to read a book by Neil Gaiman.
I know bookworms out there can relate to what my title says… I have a growing pile of To-Be-Read (TBR) books and it’s growing by leaps and bounds every single day!
I recently downloaded a number of e-books for my Kindle. Asylum by Madeleine Roux, Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell, The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman, The Waking Dark by Robin Wasserman, and Sometimes It Lasts by Abbi Glines. I actually have some more to download but I haven’t got the list here with me right now.
I got this quote and this perfectly sums up the reason why I still keep on buying (downloading for my Kindle, too!) new books even if I still have a lot that I haven’t read…
Buying books is immensely comforting. Maybe I won’t read them immediately, but they make me feel so much better whenever I’m sad and blue. Just their presence, it’s like having more to look forward to.
I would like to believe that if we know who we truly are, nobody else can use our weaknesses against us. Unfortunately, there are some people who continue to pretend to be someone they’re not! They would rather live a lie than embrace who they truly are. I know one specific person who lives that way. And it’s a pity because the person has a good life if not for the lie.
Know who you are… The true one.
“I know we’re fucked up, alright? I’m impulsive, and hot tempered, and you get under my skin like no one else. You act like you hate me one minute, and then need me the next. I never get anything right, and I don’t deserve you…but I fucking love you, Abby. I love you more than I loved anyone or anything ever. When you’re around, I don’t need booze, or money, or the fighting, or the one-night stands…”
— Travis Maddox, Beautiful Disaster
I think it’s common knowledge among this blog’s readers and my friends/followers in Facebook that I am a huge fan of Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire. I love that book I’ve read it a dozen times or so already! Ha-ha! I just love the fucked up love affair of Travis Maddox and his lady love Abby Abernathy. I love the idea of a player falling so hard for someone. Yes, it’s the hopeless romantic in me, I know.
Have you read it yet?
I pressed my nose into his throat. “I love you.”
“I know.” He tilted his head back, giving me room to nestle. – Sylvia Day, Entwined With You
I love the Cross series by Sylvia Day. It is an intense read, if you are into erotica. The love Gideon and Eva for each other is not your ordinary one. They are head over heels in love with a fierce passion it’s either they will bring each other to greater heights or destroy each other in the long run.
Have you read Bared to You and Entwined With You yet?

In dreams and in LOVE
there are NO
And I do believe so.
I do think that it is up to us to make our dreams and everything in love to come true. We just need to act and give it our all!
Don’t you think?
It’s a habit of mine to read before going to bed. The past few weeks I’ve been reading one book a day. The past couple of days, one book in as little as three hours!
I feel so lucky to be able to read as much as I can and to find gems of books from authors I wasn’t aware of.
The best time to plan a book is while you’re doing the dishes.
- Agatha Christie
Actually the best time to do some thinking is when your hands are busy doing something. Washing the dishes is the best time for me. Others also do their thinking/planning when doing the laundry or when dusting surfaces at home. When the hands are busy the mind is working double time. That’s what I like to believe.
No wonder Agatha Christie said that the best time to plan a book is while doing the dishes. She might have done that ih her time.
A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge.
— George R.R. Martin
I always tell everyone who would listen to read a book. Instead of being idle, bring a book with you wherever you go so that you can read while on queue or while waiting for someone. You need to fill your head with something other than the junk/unnecessary stuff that you get from television or from listening to the gossips in your area.
Happy rainy Monday!
I saw this via Twitter and I thought I’d post it here for you to know as well…
