Oprah bookclub selections

A couple of years ago, when I became aware of the Oprah bookclub selections, I had this dream of reading ALL the books she has chosen. Yes, starting from book one to the present selection. I am a big fan of Oprah and a bigger fan of books. I am mostly focused on fiction reads but I am impressed with the selections on Oprah’s bookclub. I would like to try something else for a change.

But it remained a dream. I read some of the books but getting each one of the books in her selection could cost me a lot. I chose some and read it. I got bored with a few but was able to finish more than half of the books I’ve chosen. Most are really good, I must say.

The one that struck me the most was James Frey’s A Million Little Pieces. I know it’s the one that got the Oprah seal revoked and was the one mired in controversy over the fact that Frey claimed it was a memoir but a percentage of it actually turned out to be fiction. I still loved the book! The raw emotions it evoked in me…

I will write a review of it in a separate entry. I read the e-book version of it. I am thinking of getting the paperback or the hardbound copy of it.
